{"id":11,"date":"2016-02-06T16:36:09","date_gmt":"2016-02-06T16:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/francescperera.wordpress.com\/?page_id=1"},"modified":"2023-12-27T17:19:45","modified_gmt":"2023-12-27T17:19:45","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mat.uab.cat\/web\/perera\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I am an Associate Professor in the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Department of Mathematics (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/mat.uab.cat\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Mathematics<\/a> at the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/uab.cat\" target=\"_blank\">Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona.<\/a> I am currently the Managing Editor of the journal <a href=\"http:\/\/mat.uab.cat\/pubmat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Publicacions Matem\u00e0tiques (opens in a new tab)\">Publicacions Matem\u00e0tiques<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My research interests are in Operator Algebras, Noncommutative Algebra, Semigroup Theory, and the interplay between these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More specifically, I am interested in the structure of nuclear C*-algebras and their classification, with particular emphasis on the study of invariants such as K-Theory and the Cuntz semigroup. I am also interested in the connections of C*-algebras with Dynamical Systems and with more general algebraic structures, such as Steinberg algebras and Leavitt Path algebras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am a member of the <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uab.cat\/web\/ring-theory-group-1210142396243.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ring Theory Research Group<\/a> at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (collaborative research grant PID2020-113047GB-I00), the <a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/mat.uab.cat\/web\/ligat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LIGAT<\/a> (Laboratory of Interactions between Algebra, Geometry, and Topology, collaborative research grant 2021SGR01015), and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crm.cat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CRM<\/a> (Centre de Recerca Matem\u00e0tica, Mar\u00eda de Maeztu collaborative research grant CEX2020-001084-M).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am a member of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ams.org\/home\/page\" target=\"_blank\">American Mathematical Society<\/a> and the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rsme.es\/\" target=\"_blank\">Real Sociedad Matem\u00e1tica Espa\u00f1ola<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona.
