Abstract: I will introduce symmetric Poisson geometry, the study of symmetric bivector fields on a manifold. I will first discuss their integrability condition, then move to their geometric interpretation, which features totally geodesic foliations, and finally discuss some interesting examples, including their connection to Jacobi-Jordan algebras.
