Since July 2022 I am a Ramón y Cajal fellow (tenure-track research position) at the Department of Mathematics of the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, and the PI of the grant Generalized Geometry: connections, naturality and low dimensions (GENTLE).

I was a Professor Lector (tenure-track 1 lecturer) at the Universitat de Barcelona between February 2021 and June 2022. In 2022 I had a requalification grant to visit the Weizmann Institute.

Until February 2021, I was a Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellow at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (first Individual, since May 2020 COFUND Beatriu de Pinós), hosted by Joan Porti.

Until August 2018, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Weizmann Institute, hosted by Avraham Aizenbud and Dmitry Gourevitch.

From September 2014 to March 2017 I was an Iberoamerican Visiting Researcher at IMPA. My host was Henrique Bursztyn.

My PhD thesis "Generalized geometry of type Bn" was supervised by Nigel Hitchin at the Mathematical Institute, Oxford University.
I was granted the leave to supplicate in January 2015.

In January 2014 I became a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, after completing the TFP Programme of the Oxford Learning Institute.

I earned my first PhD in 2012, by the University Autónoma of Madrid. My PhD thesis "Higgs bundles and Hermitian symmetric spaces'' was supervised by Óscar García-Prada at the ICMAT.

Between 2006 and 2010 I held a scholarship in the Residencia de Estudiantes, Madrid.
Before that, I did my undergraduate at the University of Valencia, city where I was born.

Thirty-five years ago, when I arrived at Indiana University, a senior faculty member took me aside and gave me some advice. "Ewing," he said, "here are five things you ought to do in the next few years if you want to be a mathematician." Publish sensibly, discover constantly, travel extensively, talk widely, teach passionately. Do those things, he said, and mathematics becomes a part of your life - not just a job, but a profession. That was good advice.
